What is Arcoxia?
Arcoxia is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication prescribed to treat symptoms associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The acting ingredient, etoricoxib, operates by preventing the release of prostaglandins which are released by the body in response to injury. These are responsible for causing the inflammation, swelling, pain, and irritation at the site of injury. This makes it an effective treatment for conditions causing these symptoms.
How is Arcoxia used?
Arcoxia is usually taken once a day, and washed down with a glass of water. It may be taken with or without food, however if you experience an upset stomach you should dose alongside a snack or meal. Always swallow the tablets whole without crushing, splitting or chewing.
Always attend all appointments with your health care provider so your progress and response to this medication can be monitored. Some patients may need their dosage adjusted mid way through your course of medication.
