It is an antidepressant used to treat the symptoms of depression and other mood disorders. The active ingredient Citalopram Hydrobromide is a member of the SSRI family (as are the other antidepressants; Prozac, Aropax, and Zoloft). Therefore it works in the same way as it blocks the serotonin uptake in the brain. How do you take it? Take once daily or as prescribed by your physician. It does not need to be taken with food.
