Dosage and Administration
Always dose and take as directed by your doctor. Never stop taking, increase, or decrease your dosage, unless recommended by your doctor. Your dosage will vary depending on the condition being treated you’re your medical history.
E-Mycin should be taken orally on an empty stomach, alongside a glass of water. If nausea occurs after taking, you may take alongside milk or food. Normal dosage is 500mg every 12 hours. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablet, always swallow the tablet whole. For best results, this medication should be taken at evenly spaced intervals.
Always finish the course of medication which you are prescribed, even if symptoms have disappeared. If you stop taking E-Mycin too early you stand a high risk of the infection returning.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If however it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your schedule as normal. Never double-up a dosage to make up for a missed one.
