Fongitar (Zinc Pyrithione/Polytar) – 1% (150ml bottle)

Uses
Fongitar is used to treat scaly, itchy scalps caused by conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, dandruff, pruritus and eczema. It is a medicated shampoo which removes the organisms causing the condition.

Dosage & Administration
Your dose will depend upon your medical history and the exact condition being treated. Always use Fongitar as directed by your physician. It is usually used once per week.

Apply Fongitar just as you would a shampoo. Shake the bottle before applying and massage Fongitar into your scalp and hair. Leave for three minutes, and then rinse it out thoroughly.

If you miss an application of Fongitar there is no need to worry. Use it as soon as you remember. Using Fongitar on a regular basis will give you the best results, missing applications on the other hand will delay your symptoms from clearing up.

Never suddenly stop taking this medication without consulting your physician first. If you do, your symptoms could worsen or return.

Fongitar is for external use only, avoid contact with your eyes, inner nose, or mouth.

Side Effects
Side effects of Fongitar include rashes, an increased sensitivity to light, and skin irritation. If you experience any of these symptoms stop using Fongitar and contact your physician immediately.

Precautions
Before taking Fongitar always ensure your doctor is aware of any allergies you have, any medication you have been taking (including non-prescription), and always inform your doctor if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Fongitar is not recommended for long-term use. Only ever use as prescribed by your physician.
