Tretinoin (Generic Retinova) – 0.05%( 20gm tube)

Use
Tretinoin is used as a treatment for acne, but it is also helpful as an anti-aging cream, removing wrinkles and fading spots made by the sun.

Another use for this medication is preventing hairloss. When combined with Minoxidil it can encourage cell reproduction and accelerate the removal of dead cells in the scalp.

Dosage
Always take Tretinoin as directed by your doctor. Apply the cream to the affected skin, rubbing in a thin layer covering the area. Use daily at first and then every 2-3 days after initial application.

It is important you use this medication consistently, as it can take some time to begin working, and you may not notice the benefits of this medication for a few months. Once you do begin to notice Tretinoin working, it is important you continue using it until your course of medication as prescribed has ended.

Side Effects
You may feel a warm sensation after applying the cream which is to be expected and is completely normal.

Other side effects may include; stinging, redness, itching, burning, swelling, acne sores, crusting, scaling, peeling, discoloring (lightening or darkening) or dry skin. If any of these symptoms become severe or bothersome, contact your doctor promptly.

Precautions
Always ensure your physician is aware of any allergies, and any medication (including non-prescription medication and supplements) you have recently taken. Always you’re your physician if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breast feeding.

Inform your doctor with details of any current or previous skin conditions, disorders, or diseases.

Whilst taking Tretinoin limit your exposure to the sun and avoid sun lamps at all costs. This medication increases your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. If you must spend time outside in the sun, cover the areas of skin which Tretinoin has been applied to with clothing.
