Details HEADWAY – (Minoxidil 5%) 60 mL Bottle Manufactured by Pacific Pharmaceuticals What is it? This product is the generic version of Rogaine. The active ingredient is still Minoxidil, and studies have shown that solutions of Minoxidil are effective in starting and promoting hair growth for sufferers of Male Pattern Hairloss. How do you apply it? The recommended dosage is 1 mL applied twice daily to thinning areas of the scalp. What are the side effects? The most frequently encountered adverse effects in clinical trials with Headway was itching of the scalp (1.5% of patients). Infrequently reported adverse effects included irritant dermatitis (redness, scaling and burning), non-specific allergic reactions, hives, allergic rhinitis, facial swelling, sensitivity, shortness of breath, headache, neuritis, dizziness, light-headedness, syncope, vertigo, oedema, chest pain, blood pressure changes, palpitations and pulse rate changes. Please talk to your doctor if you are concerned. What precautions should be taken? Headway is a topical treatment for external use only. Continued use is required to see any effect. If the medicine is ceased, the results gained from using the product will be reversed. Do not use Headway if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use more than the recommended dose. Do not use a hairdryer to aid drying. Headway 5 must only be used on the scalp. It is not suitable for patients with a history of hypersensitivity (allergy) to minoxidil, propylene glycol or alcohol. Discontinue use if you experience irritation of the scalp, swelling of the face, feet or lower legs, fast or irregular heartbeat, rapid weight gain, chest pain, numbness or tingling of hands, feet or face, or blurred vision. Keep away from eyes, nose and mouth. Do not breathe in the spray or swallow. Keep all medicines away from children.
